Michael “Mike” Wayne Carpenter, 66, of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Morrison House in Zanesville.
Mike was born on June 2, 1959, in Glasgow, KY, a son of the late Wilford and Doris (Nichols) Carpenter.
Mike enjoyed woodworking, fishing, collecting blue glass, and going to thrift stores, flea markets, and the Mt. Hope Sale. He also loved spending time with his family and his dogs, horses, and loved picnics with Debbie. Mike worked in construction.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Carpenter.
Mike is survived by his wife, Deborah “Debbie” (Watson) Carpenter, whom he married on October 22, 1988, his son, Clarence Hickenbottom of Cambridge, his daughters, Angela Bell of Cambridge, Robin (Chris) Kinnan of Kimbolton, Teresa Hill of Cambridge, and his daughters in Kentucky, his brothers, Bob (Jodie) Carpenter of Pleasant City, Jeff Carpenter, Kevin Carpenter, and Allen Carpenter, all of Kentucky, and his step brothers, Charles (Tracy) Carpenter of Byesville and Wes (Tammy) Carpenter of Byesville, and his sister, Michelle Carpenter of Florida. Also left to cherish his memory are his seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 11AM-1 PM with the service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with Pastor Jim Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
