Michael J. Mocharnuk

Michael Mocharnuk died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his home in Warwick, PA. He was 77 years old.
Mike was the beloved husband of Denise Meissler Mocharnuk. The couple were blessed with four sons and nine grandchildren where they shared a life dedicated to family, friends and each other.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Michael was the son of the late Nicholas and Margaret Coonan Mocharnuk and older brother to sisters Pam & Peg. He graduated Father Judge HS, class of 1965. Mike proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS William Wood. Mike retired from Anixter Wire and Cable in 2014.
"Pop" was frequently seen on the sidelines at sporting events, dance recitals, communions, and graduations. Pop and Mimi were always stand by grand dog sitters. Mike loved dogs, especially January and Casey and was constantly "dog searching" on his favorite tablet.
Mike's passion was basketball. He coached CYO for years at Maria Goretti in Hatfield, PA.
In addition to his wife Denise, Mike will be missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, Nicholas and Ivette Mocharnuk, Michael and Cindy Mocharnuk, Andrew and Melissa Mocharnuk, and Matthew and Kerri Mocharnuk; his grandchildren, Alexandra and her fiance Dillon Cave, Meghan, Maxim, Kierra, Andrew, Shane, Alyssa, Maia and Ava Mocharnuk; and his sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Mooney and Margaret 'Peg' Mocharnuk.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 10:00 am, until the start of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church at 1410 Almshouse Road in Jamison, PA 18976. His interment, with military honors, will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
