Michael Clark Montgomery, age 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, born Monday, September 2, 1946, in McKinney, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at Nortons Hospital in Louisville. Michael was the son of the late Manuel Clark and Marion Virginia Arrington Montgomery.
He was an avid bowler and drag racing fan. As a young adult, he worked at Bluegrass Dragway from 1968 – 1981; and Michael taught Industrial Arts for 31 years at Jefferson County Public Schools. He graduated from McKinney High School in 1968 and from Eastern Kentucky University with a Rank 1 in 1970.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, of 21 years, Asara Mungroo Montgomery of Louisville; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Montgomery of Stanford, Kentucky; niece, Kallen Wright (James), of Waynesburg, Kentucky; nephew, Adam Montgomery (Marisol), of Nashville, Tennessee; great niece and nephews, Willa Wright, Grady Wright, and Mateo Montgomery; and Asara's family in Trinidad, New York, and Florida.
Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by two brothers, William B. Montgomery, and infant Truit Montgomery.
A Public Visitation will be held 9-11AM Friday, November 22, 2024, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the funeral home with Bro. Kerry Jones officiating.
Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
