Michael John Moore of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on November 7, 2023, at the age of 74. Mike was born in Oklahoma City on September 25, 1949, to Pauline Ann (Corce) Moore and Columbus Buford Moore.
He was in a fraternity in college and had a number of crazy stories he liked to tell. One of his favorites being about how he was kicked out of ROTC while in Texas due to how zealous of a Sooner fan he was.
He could be loud and gruff, but ultimately, he was a teddy bear at heart. Especially after his grandkids were born, he was the epitome of the doting grandfather that spoiled the kids at every chance. One thing that didn't change was his stubborn streak. He could (and would) argue with a brick wall if he thought he was right. This was probably one of the reasons why he loved his career as an attorney so much, he was able to argue to his heart's content and get paid for it. Mike was always the go-to in the family. Whether for legal advice, or anything else, he was there for anyone that needed him.
In his free time, he enjoyed reading the newest Sci-Fi or Fantasy books, along with all of the military history magazines he subscribed to. Watching TV was another of his past times that he enjoyed. On the weekends you could be sure to find him building his day around when OU or the Thunder was playing, and during the week, he would always try to be home in time to watch the newest episode of Big Brother with his wife, Linda. The thing that he would not miss though, no matter what, was his weekly poker game with his friends. There was more than once where he either got an Uber or got a ride from a friend just to make sure he could make it.
Most of all, Michael cherished the quality time he spent with the people he loved the most – his adoring family. He loved playing Zelda with his grandson on the Switch, his granddaughter had him wrapped around her little finger, and he treasured every moment spent with his youngest grandsons. Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and a loyal friend to so many. He will be tremendously missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Columbus B. and Pauline A. Moore, and his brother, Bill Moore.
Michael is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Moore; two children, daughter Sarah Brown and her husband Steven, and son Michael Darrell Moore; four grandchildren, Rowan Brown, Aislinn Brown, Braxton Moore, and Dallas Moore, along with his sister, Paula Moore, and many nieces, nephews, friends, including his beloved poker group.
