Michael Francis "Moose" Morrissey

Cumberland, MD – Michael "Moose" Francis Morrissey, 64, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born September 26, 1957, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Morrissey was the son of the late Vincent T. "Willard" Morrissey and Mary N. (Berryman) Morrissey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cindy (Moyer) Morrissey and his beloved dogs: Maggie, Teddy and Buddy.
Moose graduated from Bishop Walsh High School in 1975. He retired from the Cumberland Fire Department due to injuries sustained in the line of duty. Moose then earned his Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from Allegany College of Maryland. He then worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at the local nursing homes and UPMC-Western Maryland Home care. He was an active member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club and had thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing and shuffle board throughout his life. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as a Past Grand Knight.
Moose is survived by his daughter, Moria Morrissey and husband, Adam Kronfeld; his son, Ryan Morrissey; his grandchildren: Kaitlyn Morrissey and Maddee Fink; his sister, Jackie Morrissey, his brother, Vincent "Buzz" Morrissey and wife, Erin McCagh Morrissey; his nephews: Sean Morrissey and wife, Annie, Conor Morrissey and wife, Natascha, Josh Wageley and wife, Stephanie; and his niece, Chrissy VonStein and husband, Jason; his sister-in-law, Wendy Wageley and husband, Chuck, and his brother-in-law, Wallace B. Keller III. He is also survived by his granddog, Malibu "BooBoo" Rayne.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. with Chaplain Jim Kasecamp officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
