Michael J. Morrissey age 75 of St. Augustine Florida, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025 al Baptist South Hospital in Jacksonville Florida. Michael was surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and family. Bom 08/31/1950 to Gerald and Dolores Morrissey, Mike grew up with a deep sense of pride, loyalty, and heart- values that would define his life. A Proud US Marine, Mike served his Country bravely in Vietnam in 1969, where he was awarded The Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat. His dedication and sacrifice for his country came at personal cost, leading to many years of health complications-that he faced with remarkable strength and dignity. Carrying the spirit of service of Brotherhood with him for the rest of his life. His time in the Marine Corp. shaped his strength, compassion and sense of duty for others. For 45 beautiful years, Mike shared his life with his beloved wife Bobby- in St. Augustine Florida. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter and unforgettable memories. Mike is survived by his wife Bobby, Brother Patrick(Lisa) Morrissey, Cousin Mary-Maragret-Morrissey-Hansen, Brother in Law Robert (Karen) Denny, his sons; David Morrissey and Daniel Morrissey, step-sons; Kevin and Brian Pearson, step-daughters; Sherry and Ramon Gillespie, Mary and Joe Barrix, and Kellydawn Gladney, his chosen children; Mikey and Megan Risko, many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Mike found great success and purpose in his career as a Car Salesman-where his charisma, honesty, and humor made lasting impressions on everyone he came in contact with. He had a gift for connecting with people-a quality that made him not only successful in business, but unforgettable as a friend to many. As a lifelong sports fan, Mike's heart beat for the Milwaukee Braves/Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Jacksonville Jaguars. Sundays were always shared with Mikey and Megan filled with game day excitement and cheers for the Jaguars, echoing from the living room. Mike also carried a lifelong admiration for John F. and Jackie Kennedy, whose grace and courage inspired him since childhood-when he had the honor of meeting them both. There will be no Memorial Services at this time due to Mike's request. There will be a Celebration of Life announced at a later date. Mike's life was one of Strength, Loyalty, and Bravery. He taught those around him to stand tall, stay true, and love fiercely. His wit, laughter, and stories will live on in the hearts of everyone that had the honor of knowing him SEMPER FI MARINE You've earned your rest. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in Michael's honor.
