Ruth Schmeer, 98, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. She was born on February 6, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was centered on her faith, family, and home. A dedicated homemaker, she took great joy in caring for her family and creating a warm, loving household. She loved to sew, read, and travel. Her strong spirit and steadfast Catholic faith guided her throughout her life, and she was a faithful member of Corpus Christi Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip Schmeer. She is survived by her children, Philip Schmeer (Anita), Katherine Schmeer, and Barbara Newsome (Guy); her grandchildren, Kelly Agrippe (Aaron), Emily Schmeer, Philip Schmeer, and Chloe Newsome; and her great-grandchildren, Avery and Brody.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in St. Augustine, followed by a reception in the church hall.
Ruth will be remembered for her faith, strength, and love of family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
