It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Dean Mudd, age 49, who peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 18th, 2024, in
Monroe City, Missouri. Michael was born on November 26th, 1974, to Nicholas Dean Mudd and Penny Sue Fishback. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many.
Michael's educational journey began at Monroe City High School, where he graduated in 1993. He furthered his studies at the University of Missouri in Columbia and Missouri Western in St. Joseph. Additionally, Michael pursued his artistic interests by attending The Actors Conservatory in Brisban, Australia, where he honed his skills in filmmaking and photography.
A devout member of the Monroe City Christian Church, Michael found solace and strength in his faith. His true passion lay in the world of film, where he poured his creativity into editing various videos and pictures. He was also a talented photographer, capturing the beauty of life through his lens. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Michael found joy in reading books, strumming the guitar, and cherishing moments with his loved ones.
Michael is survived by his loving father Nicholas and his dear brother Jamie Mudd (Sabrina), who shared his hometown of
Monroe City, Missouri. He will be deeply missed by his nephews, Gavin Mudd and Grady Mudd, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were touched by his warmth and kindness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Penny, and his grandparents.
The pallbearers for Michael's service will be Gavin Mudd, Grady Mudd, Phil Campbell, Mathew Cochran, Jason Murphy, and Jason Benson, individuals who shared special bonds with him throughout his life.
Services to honor Michael's memory will be held at Garner Funeral Home and Chapel in
Monroe City, Missouri. A visitation will take place on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will commence on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Garner Funeral Home, followed by a grave side service at St. Jude Cemetery in Monroe City. A funeral dinner will be hosted afterwards at the Monroe City Christian Church, providing an opportunity for friends and family to come together in remembrance and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis or Monroe City Christian Church in memory of Michael Dean Mudd, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
