Michael Patrick Murphy

Michael "Patrick" Murphy went to be with the Lord on Saturday July 22nd, 2023. He was in an accident while trying to rescue a friend in the riverbed in Ventura. He was born on October 23rd, 19 7 4 in Bellflower, CA to Michael and Patricia Murphy (who later went on to be Patricia Lanser).
Mike attended Buena High School in Ventura, Ca. He married his lovely wife Roanne July 21st 2007. They were married 16 years.
Early in his career he enjoyed being a deckhand\engineer, which gave him many hours on the ocean. Next he had many years involved with off shore and on shore drilling. Lastly he was a long haul truck driver, which allowed him to see much of California and our neighboring states.
Mike loved spending time with his family, friends and dogs. He and Roanne enjoyed spending time in Vegas relaxing, taking in a show or hanging out at the barbecue grill. He enjoyed the delicious food that his son Edward would prepare. Likewise, he loved helping Rose customize her travel van and other various projects. Anytime you went to the house you would see that his dogs were a very big part of the family. Wherever he went they were close by and his constant companions. On any given day you could probably find Mike in the garage working on a project and spending time with friends or neighbors unless he was out doing what he loves which is off-roading.
He is preceded in death by his parents Patricia Lanser and Mike Lanser; He's survived by his dad Mike Murphy; stepmom Debbie Murphy. His wife Roanne: stepdaughter Rose; stepson Edward and his children Sophia Marie and Olivia Rose. Sister Michelle, brother-in-law Rene. His nephew Ryan; nieces Caitlyn and Sarah; as well as many cousins.
