Michael Navarra Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 21, 2024.
Michael Thomas Navarra II, age 43, of Bethel, Connecticut passed away on January 20, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
Michael was born in Danbury, Connecticut on July 24,1980, to Sandra (Hlywa) Navarra and the late Michael T. Navarra. He is survived by his devoted wife, Laura, his three beloved children, Lilliana, Trey, and Jace, as well as his brother, Christopher, and his mother, Sandra.
Michael was a remarkable husband, father, and provider for his family; he embodied thoughtfulness and love. A dedicated and engaged father, he actively participated in his children's education, attended their sporting events, and wholeheartedly supported their activities and interests. For Mike, quality family time meant playing football, swinging bats, shooting hoops, and creating cherished memories around the warmth of family fire pits.
For over 20 years, Michael served as a dedicated educator at Great Plain Elementary School and Rogers Park Middle School in Danbury. His commitment to excellence and his willingness to extend a helping hand left a lasting impact on the lives of countless students. Mike's passion for teaching and the engaging environment in which he created, led to an atmosphere where learning thrived.
Mike's unique sense of humor and love for cooking brought joy to those around him. He saw cooking as more than just preparing meals; it was a heartfelt expression of love and a means of forging connections with others.
Baseball held a special place in Mike's heart, and his love and passion for the sport was unparalleled. He served as a leader, coach, mentor, and friend to countless young men through his coaching experiences over the past 25 years. To all his players he was so much more than just a coach. His passion and love for baseball impacted his players on the diamond and more importantly off of it. He instilled in them not only the skills to succeed on the field but also the values of integrity, teamwork, and perseverance that transcended sports. Mike was so much more than just a coach. He helped his players through any adversities they faced during their adolescence and young adult lives. He earned their respect by being honest and up-front with them. Simultaneously, creating an atmosphere where his players sought his advice and guidance and were always comfortable approaching him. He deeply cared about his players and wanted them to be as successful as possible, both on and off the field.
Michael's presence in our lives will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever live on in our hearts. We will remember him for the love he shared, the warmth he exuded, and the profound impact he had on our lives.
Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation for Michael on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, located at 57 Main St, Danbury, CT. The memorial service, held privately out of respect for the Navarra family, will also take place at Green Funeral Home.

Mr. Navarra has helped me in a way that affected my life. I needed a recommendation letter to be able to change my last name 4 years ago. The probate court recommended I get as my recommendations I can so I have a higher chance of actually get the name change. Mr.Navarra was one of the first people I went to and he happily gave it to me both in hard copy and only a day later. I am forever grateful for him and I was sad to hear that he is gone. Rest easy Mr. Navarra, Your Student Makenzie Santiago-Stra (thanks to you)
