Date of Birth: June 8, 1967
Michael "Mike" Dana Newton, age 57, passed away peacefully with his beloved family by his side on August 10th after complications from a long illness. Born on June 8, 1967, in Brunswick, Maine, Mike grew up in Bowdoin, where he built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Mike was the beloved husband of Charlene Cornelio Newton, with whom he shared many wonderful years. He is survived by his devoted mother, Lelia Newton; his twin brother, Mark Newton; his sister, Jane Roy; and his brothers, Norman, and Dale Newton. He also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who will forever remember his kind heart and generous spirit.
Predeceased by his father, Norman Newton, Mike was a man of many passions. He found joy on the golf course, peace in the stillness of a fishing line, and creativity in the kitchen. His pride in maintaining his home was evident in every detail, a testament to his love for the life he and Charlene built together.
A proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Mike treasured the camaraderie and friendships he found there. His life was a testament to the values of family, friendship, and community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at a later date, where his loved ones will gather to honor his memory and share stories of the man who touched their lives in so many ways.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mike's memory to the Autoimmune Association. https://autoimmune.org/
