Michael J. Noonan

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father Micheál J. Noonan, Sr. He passed away peacefully in his home under hospice care surrounded by his loving family on February 2, 2025. He was born and raised in Cloonaufil, Rooskey, County Roscommon, Ireland on April 28, 1933, and came to the United States in the late 1950s. Micheál was an avid golfer, expert bridge player and ballroom dancer, and loved traveling the world. He was an Ironworker for over 40 years in New York City, a current member of Iron Workers Local 40 NYC for 68 years, and a past member of The Rockland County Ancient Order of Hibernians, Rockland Irish-American Cultural Center, Rockland GAA, and Pearl River Elks Lodge. He is predeceased by his former wife Kathleen Devine, daughter-in-law Deirdre Noonan (nee Spillane), parents James and Teresa Noonan, brothers Sean, Seamus, Liam, and his sisters Teresa and Rita. Sadly, missed by his loving family, and sister Patty (Kilmore). He is survived by his children, Michael, Marian, son-in-law John Thielsen, Deirdre, his handsome twin grandchildren Declan and Brandon, and several nieces and nephews. Along with many dear friends, cousins, and others whose lives he touched. The family is welcoming relatives and friends on Friday, February 7 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Joseph W. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 8 10:00 am at St. Aedan's Church, 23 Reld Drive, Pearl River, NY. Phone: (845) 735-7405.
