Michael B. Norred

Michael B. Norred was born in Roanoke, Alabama on September 17, 1947. He proudly served in Vietnam as a Marine (Once a Marine, always a Marine!). He married Judy in 1971, with two sons, Stan and Andrew, whom he loved deeply and loved to brag about them whenever given any opening in conversation.
Michael started his career as a homebuilder and built his own home from the ground up with only his wife and sons as assistants (and supervisors.) Later in his career he became an International heavy equipment salesman for North America, Canada and South Africa, also winning the Top Salesman Award for five straight years.
He loved God and professed and shared his Jesus with anyone he talked with. He was a deacon at his first church, Luthersville Baptist, and when he joined East Newnan Baptist in 2004, loved putting his building and salesmanship knowledge to work in mission trips and in teaching Sunday School. He loved being a cowboy and loved to travel.
Michael leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Judy Hamlet Allison Norred; two beloved sons Stan Allison (Sandy) and Andrew Allison; two grandsons, Gerry (Hope) Allison and David (Sydnee) Allison; four great- grandchildren, Dean, Maeve, Heath, and Elowin Allison; sister Betty Jean (Charles) Sherrer; and brother Donnie (Chris) Eidson.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at East Newnan Baptist Church, 14 Cresswind Blvd., Newnan, GA 30263, with Dr. Anthony Langley officiating. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date, with full military honors being presented at the cemetery.
