Michael James O'Harra, age 77, passed away Thursday, August 7th, 2025. Michael graduated High School from The Columbus School for the Blind. Life member of VFW in West Jefferson, Ohio, and The Moose Lodge. Playing music was Mike's passion. Over the years Mike has been a member of many local bands. At one time Mike went on tour with a band to entertain the troops in Vietnam and various other parts of Asia. Michael loved his life, his family and his many friends. He bravely fought cancer for over 20 years. He will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by parents: Elmo O'Harra and Mary Fearing O'Harra, stepdaughter, Getena Hartman. Survived by loving wife, Phyllis Jean O'Harra; daughter, Carmen (Troy) Beniak; stepdaughters, Jan (Nelson) Bartel, Judy (Bill) Hess, Dawn Jones (Laura Puhl); son-in-law, David Hartman. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother, Delbert (Carol) O'Harra. Many nephews and nieces. Many wonderful, dedicated music friends who helped and loved Michael. Friends may call JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Rd., Hilliard, OH Wednesday 4- 8 PM where service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, Pastor Denny Tatman officiating. Interment Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Echo Hospice and The National Kidney Foundation.
