Michael Paullus Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Egan-Ryan Funeral Service - Northwest Chapel on Jan. 31, 2026.
Michael Alan Paullus, 65, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 20, 1960, Michael was a devoted son, brother, husband, brother-in-law, dad, father-in-law, and proud "pops." He lived his life with integrity, and a love so deep it left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Michael was a graduate of Bishop Ready High School Class of 1978. He married his high school sweet heart and love of his life Linda (Evans) Paullus in 1983, and together they built a life centered on family and deep love.
Michael dedicated his career to Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 189, where he spent decades working hard, showing up early, staying late, and giving his all. He took great pride in his work, earned the respect of those around him, and was looking forward to retirement this coming summer- a season he had truly earned.
Michael brought joy wherever he went. His laugh was contagious, the kind you never forget-and his presence made every gathering brighter. He was even voted "most fun to be with," in high school. Michael never missed a party or a chance to crack a joke. He loved his family and friends, the beach, watching and attending sporting events, and just having a good time. He was often the tannest one in the room-a reflection of his love for the sun and the warmth he carried with him.
But the role Michael Cherished most was being a dad. His daughters, Ashley and Allie, were his absolute pride and joy-the center of his world and the greatest accomplishment of his life. He was the best girl dad: endlessly proud, fiercely loving, and always being their biggest supporter. From countless soccer games and tournaments to life's biggest moments, Michael was always there. He believed in his girls completely and loved them in a way that made them feel safe and endlessly cherished. Becoming "pops" to his grandchildren, Lofton and Finley, was his next greatest role and one that he loved and thrived at.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years , Linda (Evans) Paullus.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Antoinette Paullus; his daughters, Ashley (Michael) Bailey and Allie (Doug) Siegesmund; his grandchildren, Lofton and Finley Siegesmund; his sister, Julie (Steve) Geise; his brothers-in law-and sisters-in law, Craig (Connie) Evans, Cheryl (Tom) Pitt, Michael (Lisa) Evans, Karen (Lou) Griffith, Lisa (Don) Woosley, Annie (Ray) Heston, Anthony Evans, and Jackie (Erik) Naille; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Michael will be remembered for his unforgettable laugh, his love of life, and the immense pride and devotion he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the daughters who adored him, the grandchildren who filled his heart, and the many lives made better simply by knowing him. While we will miss him the rest of our lives, we find comfort in our faith, and knowing he is reunited with his wife and the love of his life Linda.
The family will receive friends at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel on Wednesday, February 4th from 2pm-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 5th at 10:30am at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Hilliard, OH. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Michael's name may be made to The Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
