His Legacy Michael Joseph Peddie, "Mike", 80, passed away March 24, 2024. He was born on April 14, 1943, in Windsor, Canada to Harold Peddie and Rosemary Heinrich. Mike married the love of his life, Judith Eaves, on July 13, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan and shared his life with her for over 60 years. He will be remembered as a man who was devoted to his faith and family. Mike loved working at General Motors as an electrician. He loved spending time in the outdoors, riding his motorcycle, and tinkering on building projects. Mike was President of the Howell Gun Club for 10+ years. He was a great marksman and devoted his time there to teaching gun safety classes and implementing numerous improvements to the club including many safety upgrades. His greatest passion was having his "cottage time". This always included making memories and bonding with his children and grandchildren up north at the cottage.
His Family Mike will be missed greatly by his loving wife, Judith Peddie; his children, Jeff (Ruby) Peddie, Scott (Malou) Peddie, Beth Ann (Dan) Betcher; siblings, Elaine Lamb, Barbara (Steve) Smith, Susan Chenette; grandchildren, Zach, Hannah, Michael, Isabella, Connor, Ben, Julianna, Amanda and Nick; great grandchildren, Sawyer, Alex and Sparrow; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Peddie; his parents, Harold and Rosemary Peddie; and his sister, Marilyn Gordon.
His Farewell Mike's family and friends will gather Friday, April 5, 2024 (9:30 AM visitation), with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 425 E. Washington Street, Howell, Michigan. Father Gary Koenigsknecht will serve as Celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Howell Nature Center.
