Michael X. Peterson

Michael X. Peterson, age 22, of Millville, DE, passed away unexpectedly as the result of a motorcycle accident on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Born in Dover, DE, on December 29, 2002, Mike was the second son of Timothy A. Peterson and Catherine M. (Noe) Peterson. He was a 2021 graduate of Indian River High School, where he played both soccer and volleyball. In May 2025, he proudly graduated from the University of Delaware, pursuing his dream of becoming a high school English teacher.

Mike loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was smart, gregarious, and full of light-his upbeat spirit and radiant smile could brighten any room. A gifted athlete, Mike not only excelled at soccer and volleyball but also loved skiing and bodyboarding. While at the University of Delaware, he was an active member of Sigma Phi Fraternity, forming many lasting friendships.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Noe.

He is survived by his loving parents, Tim and Catherine Peterson of Millville, DE; his brothers, Aaron Peterson and his wife, Hannah, of Tulsa, OK, and Natt Peterson of Millville, DE; his beloved nephews, Jackson and Elliot Peterson; his maternal grandmother, Rosemary Noe of Ocean View, DE; and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Rhoda Peterson of York, SC. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends whose lives he touched deeply.

Mike's kind heart, adventurous soul, and unforgettable smile will be missed beyond words.

A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until 12 noon on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Rd., Frankford, DE 19945, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon. Interment will be private.
