Michael Angelo Ranieri, 83, of Braintree, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
Michael is the son of the late Angelo and Chiarina Ranieri of Abruzzo, Italy. Michael leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Gail M. Ranieri, three children, David Ranieri and his wife Jody of Hanover, Christina Ranieri of Braintree and Gregory Ranieri and his wife Maura of Braintree and daughter-in-law, Lisa Ranieri of Hanover. He adored his four grandchildren: Samuel, Mya, Michaela and Celia. He is the brother of Mario Ranieri of Braintree and Elizabeth Ricci, formerly of Braintree.
Michael was a loyal protector of his family, and his focus was always to work hard and provide a stable and loving home for the people he loved. He was proud of his service in the Air Force as a Sergeant. Michael enjoyed spending winters in Naples, FL. He was a loyal parishioner and usher at Sacred Heart, Weymouth for many years. Even as Michael bravely fought dementia/Alzheimer's for 12 years, he brought his family together. In his later years, the protector was protected and cared for by those who loved him the most. Michael was an old school, hard working entrepreneur and craftsman and followed his dreams of owning his own business, combining his artistry and love of cars. With his wife, and later family, he owned and operated Mike's Auto Body Service, Inc., Braintree. Michael will be remembered as an independent thinker, visionary and loving father and husband who was "imperfectly perfect" and loved fiercely by his family. He had an extremely kind heart and always helped those in need.
Michael put his first pair of skis on at age 50 so he could ski with his children on Loon Mountain. Michael loved all music and bought his first trumpet at the age of 10 with his paper route money and later in life, learned to play the organ proficiently. Michael enjoyed all sports, especially golf and bowling but also held season tickets to the Patriots for many years. He enjoyed coaching youth sports for his children's Braintree teams. For a serious man, he was full of surprises like the time he brought a goat home as a family pet. You will always be with us Michael!
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, March 18, 2024, 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
Michael's Funeral Mass and interment will be held privately.

Gail, I am so sorry for your loss and heartfelt condolences to the whole family. As you know, I have known Mike since 1965, the year of my wedding. We shared many great times together -- Mike, John, Dick, me, and many others. One of my most enjoyable moments was when I went to your condo in Naples with Mike. I think we were there for 10 days. He and John took me all over the place -- to Sanibel, Captiva, etc. We played golf. That was not pretty. John and Mike did well, me not so much. Now, Gail, he is in the hands of Jesus. GOD BLESS.
