Michael Shane Red, born on September 30, 1974, in Little Rock, Arkansas, departed this world on August 8, 2025. He is remembered fondly as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
Throughout his career, Michael made a significant impact as a professional truck driver, amassing over 2 million safe driving miles, incident, and accident-free. This remarkable achievement speaks to his dedication and professionalism, traits that he carried into all aspects of his life. He retired from Greenway Equipment.
Michael’s personality was as vibrant as his career was impressive. Known for his love of laughter, he often entertained friends and family with a "pocketful of jokes." His ability to lighten the mood and bring joy to those around him was unparalleled.
In addition to his humor, Michael was a proud 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, having been initiated into the fraternity in 2008. His commitment to the values of Masonry was a reflection of his integrity and dedication to community service.
Michael's interests reflected his love for the great outdoors. He spent many joyful hours fishing on the water, hunting in the deer stand, boating, and camping. These moments in nature were cherished memories that he shared with his loved ones. He also enjoyed playing shuffle board with family and friends.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Angela Red of Benton, Arkansas, and three children: Hannah Bottoms and her husband Trevor of Booneville, Arkansas, Callie Red of Haskell, Arkansas, and Michael Shane Red, Jr. of Haskell, Arkansas. He was a proud grandfather to Clinton and Lorelei Bottoms, who brought immense joy to his life.
He is also deeply mourned by his parents, Wallace and Carol Red of Bryant, Arkansas; his sister, Valerie David and her husband Gary of Benton, Arkansas; and his brother, Scott Red of Benton, Arkansas. Michael's family included step-sons Jonathan Shelton and his wife Dustee of Bigelow, Arkansas, Jeffrey Millsap, and Darren Muldrew both of Plano, Texas; and step-grandchildren: Makayla Shelton & Josh Brown of Hector Arkansas, Kaden & Allison Terrell of Conway, Arkansas, Kole Batchelor of Winnsboro, Texas, Alex Shelton of Bigelow, Arkansas, Madison Shelton of Vilonia, Arkansas, Ryder Holley of Bigelow,Arkansas. He shared a special bond with his cousins, Darren and Chris, who stood by him through thick and thin, having grown up together more like brothers than cousins; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins who where so special to Michael, both on the Red and the Rhoads side of the family.
Michael is preceded in death by his brother, Monte Red, and his grandparents, W.B. and Velma Red, and William and Wilma Rhoads.
