Michael "Mike" Riddle, a cherished father, husband, and brother, was called to his eternal home on a peaceful morning in
Demotte, IN.
Born and raised in
Georgetown, KY, Mike's journey through life was marked by his unwavering faith, his devotion to family, and his love for the great outdoors.
Mike's early years were spent exploring the rolling hills of Kentucky, where he developed a lifelong passion for the natural world. This love for adventure and service led him to spend two years of his college education in Germany while proudly serving in the military. His time abroad enriched his life with experiences and friendships that he treasured deeply.
Upon returning to the States, Mike embarked on a career that saw him take on roles in management for various establishments. His leadership skills and dedication to his work were evident to all who worked alongside him. Later in life, Mike found joy in the open road as a truck driver, a job that allowed him to combine his love for travel with his strong work ethic.
Mike's heart was always fullest when he was with his beloved wife, Barbara Riddle, and their daughters, Karen Kaiser and Kristine Gluth. His sisters Sharon Gould, Tommie Martin, and Kathy Siples shared in the many joyful family gatherings that Mike so loved. Though his brother Leighton "Pete" Riddle and his sister, Brenda Jones preceded him in passing, the memories they created together remained a source of comfort and strength for Mike.
A man of deep Christian faith, Mike lived his life as a testament to the values he held dear. He was a pillar of strength, kindness, and compassion within his community and church, First Methodist Church in Crown Point, where his presence will be sorely missed.
Those who knew Mike will fondly remember his hobbies, which were as much a part of him as his gentle smile. Camping trips, fishing excursions, and the intricate wood-working pieces he created are cherished legacies of the times spent with a man who found beauty and purpose in every activity.
Mike's legacy lives on through his beloved nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored. His guidance, stories, and laughter will echo in their hearts and minds forever.
As we bid farewell to Michael "Mike" Riddle, we do so with the knowledge that his journey continues in a place of divine peace and everlasting joy. His life was a beautiful reflection of his faith, and we take comfort in knowing that he has been welcomed into the arms of our Lord. Mike's memory will forever be a beacon of light to all who were blessed to know him.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery Chapel, 1505 E Morthland Dr., Valparaiso, 46383. A visitation and viewing will be held from 2pm until service time.
