Michael Lynn Rothacker, 53 of Redfield, SD passed away Sunday July 24, 2022. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022, at Hyke Funeral Home, Redfield SD; with a Celebration of life at 4:00 p.m. Please come and share memories you have of Mike. Michael Mike Lynn Rothacker was born December 11, 1968, to Wesley and Barbara (Brown) Rothacker. Mike grew up in the desert of California. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, playing piano, working on cars, square dancing, singing, and going to the mountains. He went to school at Lucerne Valley Church of Christ.
On Aug 18, 1990, he married Sharon Stegmann, they had 3 children and eventually 8 grandkids. Mike loved his kids and his grandkids with his entire being. Xzavier, Khaleesi, Owyn, Chloe, Micheal III, Cassius, Kylie, and Athena brought him so much joy in life. He also enjoyed cooking, singing, riding his motorcycles, driving around SD to find the best Prime Rib, listening to music, and spending time with his family; especially BBQs where he could smoke some meat.
Mike Joined the United States Navy in 2003 and retired in 2019. He worked many jobs and was always proud he help others during his twenty-plus years at South Dakota Developmental Center. While in the United States Navy he helped organize a Special Olympics event while stationed in Germany.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Sharon Rothacker of Redfield, and 3 children; Trista Pouncy, Brittany Young, and Michael Rothacker II. He is also survived by his mother Barbara Rothacker, 3 brothers; Wesley Rothacker, Ralph Dennin, and Steven Parks; 2 sisters Laura Avina and Virginia Fernandez.
He is proceeded in death by his father Wesley Rothacker. Also several Aunts, Uncles, and a nephew.
