Michael Joseph Ryan, 73, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 18, 1951 to the late Sonja and Joseph Ryan. Michael attended Lafayette High School in Brooklyn and Staten Island Community College, where he excelled academically. He served in the United States Army National Guard for six years, where he was awarded for being an expert marksman. Michael was a gifted athlete and played baseball and hockey for many years. He was also a Yankees bat boy and later on a hockey linesman and referee. Michael loved sports and enjoyed watching and cheering for his favorite teams - the New York Rangers, the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, and Iowa State football and basketball with his daughter, Allison.

Michael started his professional career with the American Bank Note Company in the Bronx, New York where he learned and mastered his skills. After many years there, he then went on to work for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington DC as a letter and script engraver. He was a highly talented and respected engraver. Michael retired in 2020.

Michael married his best friend and soulmate, Marianne on November 19, 1972. They were married for 51 years. They shared two children. Michael and Marianne welcomed a son, Daniel, in 1975 and a daughter, Allison, in 1986. His children were a source of great pride and joy. He was a very proud father and grandfather. Michael's grandchildren Nicole, Logan, and Connor, were the light of his life.

He fought the good fight and is survived by his loving wife and family; wife Marianne (Pagano); son Daniel and wife Sunny; daughter Allison; grandchildren Nicole, Logan, and Connor; sisters Randy Fleming and Kathy Kiminki (Dave); brother-in-law Thomas Pagano (Marilyn); and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. He will be missed greatly.

Visitation and funeral will be held at Brown, Owens, and Brumley Family Funeral Home at 425 S. Henderson Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76104.

Visitation: Friday May 24, 2024 from 4-7.
Funeral: Saturday May 25, 2024 at 12 pm.
