Michael Gregory Sabelhaus was a man of many talents, strong passions, and deep loyalty to the people and communities he loved. Throughout most of his working life, Michael was a master electrician, known for his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic. He eventually retired from Chrysler, where he took pride in his work and the friendships he built there.

Michael proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. His service reflected his deep sense of responsibility, discipline, and commitment.

Outside of his career, Michael lived life to the fullest. He had a lifelong love of motorcycles and was a proud member of the SteelHorse Riders Motorcycle Club, where he was known by his road name, “Paladin.” The open road and the brotherhood of the club held a special place in his heart.

Michael also found joy in the outdoors, especially deer hunting, which brought him peace and fulfillment. Music was another defining part of his life. He was the lead singer of “Big Mike and The Beertones,” sharing his voice, humor, and energy with all who heard him perform.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Quintin Sabelhaus; his mother, Elizabeth Sabelhaus, (née Kelley); and his sister, Elizabeth Albani, (née Sabelhaus).

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Kathleen Sabelhaus, (née Kavulic); his sister, Margaret Szymkowski, (née Sabelhaus); and his brother-in-law, Jordan “Judd” Szymkowski. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Agnes Shawver (née Kavulic) and her husband Chad Shawver, Lorraine Goetzinger (née Kavulic) and her husband Dennis Goetzinger, and Marie Bate (née Kavulic) and her husband Robert Bate.

Michael is further survived by his aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, whom he cared for deeply, along with many extended family members, friends, bandmates, and brothers of the road.

Michael Gregory Sabelhaus will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, music, service, and the bold, authentic way he lived his life.
