It is with a heavy heart and enduring love that we say goodbye to our beloved Michael Sandusky. Mike passed away on August 20, 2025. Born in Pasco, WA, on November 21, 1951, Mike was the epitome of love, generosity, thoughtfulness, and humor. His infectious laughter and practical jokes brought joy to the lives of all who knew him. His generous spirit radiated hope and comfort.

Mike was a man of many talents. Respected by the men he worked with during his career at Asarco, UNC, and Ponderay Newsprint, he retired as a manager in 2013. A graduate of White Pass High School, Mike was an All-American High School Football Player and was inducted into the White Pass High School Hall of Fame.

Mike was a man of exceptional character-his kindness and compassion knew no bounds. His love for his wife, Margaret, was a shining example of devotion, and the pride he took in raising two incredible sons was palpable. His love of family was evident from an early age. He had an extraordinary bond with his mother, Ruth, and was an incredible big brother who never missed any of his younger brothers' games-a passion he carried on with his grandchildren. He was their number one fan, often scheduling his life around making every game.

Papa Mike was full of valuable pointers and stories about the good old days. He was the heart and soul of every karaoke night, had a sweet tooth, and could often be caught eating dessert first. Mike lived his life with a joy and enthusiasm that was contagious, and he had a unique ability to connect with people of all ages. He was always there-no matter what-ready to lend a hand. He was a truly good man who not only told us he loved us every single day but showed it through his actions. If Mike knew you needed help with anything, he was the first to volunteer. We were always striving to match his thoughtful demeanor; his example made us better versions of ourselves. These are just a few of the many qualities that made Mike the man he was. He will continue to inspire and guide us.

Mike is survived by the love of his life, Margaret Sandusky, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage and raised two incredible sons, Scott (McKenzy) and Brian (Michelle). His legacy lives on in his grandchildren: Walter, Wyatt, Smith, Gracie, Sullivan, Sela, and Lila Sandusky. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Sandusky, and his brothers: John (son Kyle) and Bob (Martha, with daughters Carrie and Sarah) Sandusky. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sandusky.

We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Mike on his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a lasting tribute to a life beautifully lived.

Mike was a great friend and team mate. He always had a smile, joke or prank that he was excited to share. I have very fond memories of him as a friend and team mate. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
