Steven H Cameron

Steven H Cameron was born July 9, 1969 to Sally Stonerock and Conrad K Christensen. He legally changed his name to Cameron after his mother married James Cameron. He is survived by two brothers and one sister. He is mourned deeply by his wife of five years.
Steve grew up in Issaquah. He would often join his mother at her job and found is first passion, trucks. Not just any trucks, semi-trucks. He achieved driving over a million miles without any accidents. He loved driving, the open road and seeing what was around the next bend.
His next adventure wouldn't start until he joined a dating site. Little did he know that he was about to find the woman of his dreams. He sent her a message and waited. And waited. Until the day he went back online to cancel his subscription. And there, he read her reply. And that began the next chapter of life. Steve married Kristi Haase October 6th, 2018, at New Day Christian Centre with Pastor Jim Ford presiding.
They loved a lifetime in the six years they were together. But, all good things come to an end. Steve was diagnosed with valley fever in August 2021, but this disease masked a far deadlier one. In April of 2023, he was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. The toll that the valley fever had taken on his body meant that he could not pursue treatment, at least not without very high risks. He chose to live his life his way, on his terms.
But, cancer does not give up. It relentlessly broke his body down. He met each day bravely and fought to always keep his humour. It wasn't easy and his smile didn't always shine. His battle to live his life was lost on December 12,2023.
One of the last things he told his wife was "Everything is going to be OK." She clings to that phrase and has made it her mantra to get through the days without him.
