Michael R. Scasny, 92, died on May 19, 2025 at E.W. Lucille Cates Hospice House in Ocala, FL. He was born into this life on February 23, 1933 in Detroit, MI and was son to the late John and Anna (Resau) Scasny. Michael grew up in Detroit.
Following high school, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps. While he was in the Marines, Michael met his wife Frances. Together they raised their family in Michigan while he worked and retired from Chrysler.
In 1992, he and his wife moved to Florida and made their home in Dunnellon. Michael and his wife were avid golfers enjoying the beautiful courses Dunnellon and the surrounding counties had to offer, but their main hub was Rainbow Springs Golf Course. He enjoyed life to the fullest and will forever be remembered and never forgotten by all of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Steve Scasny and his sister, Mary Reszka.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of seventy years, Frances Scasny, Dunnellon, FL; his sons, Michael Scasny, Peachtree City, GA, David Scasny, Alabama, and Jeffery Scasny, Port Deposit, MD; his daughters, Sandra Scasny, Dunnellon, FL, and Kathleen Slamka, Gainesville, FL; his thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
