Michael G. Sheffield, a beloved figure in our community, was born on September 15, 1951, in Lufkin, Texas, and departed this life on February 10, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. He was 73 years old.

For 25 years,  he served in the Maintenance Department of the Nederland Independent School District.

Michael cherished his role as a family man, always placing family first. He was the loving husband of Cathy Sheffield for 48 wonderful years. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael was known for his vibrant personality. He genuinely loved people, never meeting a stranger. A skilled photographer and videographer, Michael also owned Sheffield Productions, where he mentored numerous students in the art of photography. His creative talents led him to film over 400 weddings and capture the essence of local events such as Nederland parades, recitals, pageants, youth football games, and band competitions. Notably, he provided video coverage for Nederland Football for two decades, further solidifying his legacy within the community.

Michael was a faithful and dedicated member of Central Baptist Church in Port Neches, where people could always count on him to make them smile.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Frances Sheffield, who instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life.
