On August 8, 2024, of Washington Township. Age 82. Beloved husband of Diane Chapline (nee Taylor) and the late Louise (nee Shover). Devoted father of Dawn Armstrong (Sean) and Karen Blaszczyk (John). Loving grandfather of John Blaszczyk (Almast), Kelly Blaszczyk (Dave Serra), Zachary Armstrong and the late Nicholas DeAngelis. Proud great-grandfather of Alex Blaszczyk. Dear son of the late Captain Leonard J. and Florence A. Sitter. Loving brother of the late Roderick Sitter. Caring dog owner of Peppe.
Mike was born in OshKosh, WI and grew up in Pompton Lakes, NJ. The family moved to Washington Twp, NJ in 1958. He graduated from Glassboro HS in 1959 and enlisted in the Navy. He served on the destroyer USS Lake Champlain.
Mike was a member of the Gloucester County/SJ Plumbing Association, AMVETS Post PA187, VFW Post 6332, Deptford Elks and Monroeton/Kellogg Mt Rod & Gun Club.
He was a NJ Master Plumber and owned his own business, Mike Sitter Plumbing & Heating for 45 years. He worked for Coastal / Texaco Eagle Point Plant in Westville, NJ for over 30 years.
Mike loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed the mountains and his cabin in PA.
He and Louise travelled extensively all over the world. He enjoyed riding his Harley with his PA & NJ friends, going to various bike rallies.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday 8:15 AM -10:15 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM at the Church of The Holy Family, Washington Twp. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory can go to the shelter his dogs were adopted from. The Homeward Bound Animal Shelter, 125 County House Rd, Blackwood, NJ 08012 or the animal shelter/rescue of your choice.
