Rochester-
Passed away peacefully with his family on February 3, 2024 at the age of 78.
Predeceased by his parents, Norman & Margaret Slayer; sisters, Patricia Slayer & Donna Cady.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jan Slayer; son, Brian Lucieer; daughter, Jen (Kyle) DeFranco; grandaughters, Chloe (Joe), Kylie & Kamryn; brothers, Norman, Kevin & Dennis; sister-in-law, Donna (Mike) LaFleur; Aunt Helen McLaughlin; many nieces, nephews, cousins & special friends.
Mike was born in Rochester, NY where he attended Greece Olympia High School. He later served in the United States Army and spent some time over seas in Germany. When he returned he had a long career with RG&E. Throughout his life, he enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, working on his 68 Chevelle, listening to his favorite music on his jukebox, and having coffee with his friends.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday February 9, 2024 at 4:00-8:00pm at Barnard Exempt, 360 Maiden Lane, Rochester, NY, 14616.
At 4:30pm, a military service will take place in honor of Mike's service in the Army.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society
