Michael E. Sowles, age 74, of Pleasantville, PA, (Neiltown) died on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at his home in Pleasantville. He was born December 29, 1950 in Titusville, PA, son of the late Paul L. and Eleanor G. (McCalmont) Sowles.

Mike graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1968 and then went on and studied engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. On September 15, 1973 in the Hearts Content area of Warren County he married Jean E. (Benner) who died March 21, 2025. The couple had been married for 51 years and Michael missed his wife dearly. The couple worked together managing and operating their logging business for many years.

His last surviving immediate family member is his brother, Richard A. "Dick" Sowles and his wife Cathy of Russell, PA.

Other family members surviving include a sister-in-law, Sandra Benner, a niece, Krista Spencer, and a nephew Bryant Benner, all of St. John's, Newfoundland.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul A. Benner.

There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
