Michael Lawrence Staiger

Michael Lawrence Staiger, 62, of Southport, North Carolina, passed away suddenly on April 15, 2025, as the result of a car accident. Born on March 25, 1963, in Massapequa, New York, Michael was known for his charisma, warmth, and unwavering support of those around him.
In his youth, Michael was an avid runner and standout track athlete at Plainedge High School in Massapequa, NY. He went on to earn his MBA from Rutgers University and carried his dedication and drive into every chapter of his life.
Michael was an entrepreneur at heart, owning and co-operating several businesses throughout his life - including The Charlie Horse in Boone, North Carolina, and B&B Billiards in Savannah, Georgia. His ventures reflected his creativity, work ethic, and love of connecting with people.
Michael spent the last few years working alongside his brother Andrew at his brother's restaurant, Fat Andy's, in Southport, North Carolina. He enjoyed connecting with the community and serving all the locals.
Throughout his life, Michael lived in many places and touched countless lives. He never met a stranger and had a special way of making every town feel a little more like home. While he accomplished many things in his life, he considered being a father his greatest
achievement. He enjoyed visiting Sailor during her time at The University of Georgia and watching her follow in his entrepreneurial footsteps.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Leonora Staiger, and his grandparents: Henry and Irene Eckstein, and Minnette and William J. Staiger.
He is survived by his daughter, Sailor Staiger; his father, William Staiger; his brothers, Andrew Staiger and Eric Staiger; his nieces and nephews: Michael Staiger, Andrew Staiger, Hunter Staiger, Hayden Staiger, James Staiger, and Gracie Staiger; and his cousin, Billy Rowan. He was a loving father, brother, son, uncle, and friend.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Brunswick Funeral Service 3479 Southport-Supply Road Bolivia, NC from 1:00 - 2:00 PM and the funeral service will follow at 2:00.
