Larry T. Besko

Lawrence "Larry" Thomas Besko, 65, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on January 16, 2026, after suffering a traumatic brain injury from a fall.

Larry was born on June 13, 1960, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the son of the late Edward W. and Irene (née Bolesta) Besko. He had been a resident of Bonita Springs for the past 25 years, coming from Edison, New Jersey.

Larry was a graduate of Spotswood High School in Spotswood, New Jersey, and later attended Rutgers University. After moving to Florida, he continued his education at Florida Gulf Coast University.

He worked as an IT Specialist for Pharmacia Medical for over 20 years before retiring in 2019. Larry enjoyed traveling and spending time with his beloved Weimaraners. He was a devoted member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and faithfully served as an usher at the 9:30 a.m. Mass for the past 15 years.

Larry is survived by his husband, Louis J. Cassi, of Bonita Springs, Florida; his brother, Edward Besko and his wife, Karen, of Eastampton, New Jersey; two nephews, Edward Besko, Jr. and Michael Besko; one niece, Danielle Cavanaugh; and one great niece, Isabel Cavanaugh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on February 3, 2026, at the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Wrightstown, New Jersey. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow at B.G. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in New Egypt, New Jersey.

The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's memory be made to the Collier County Humane Society.
