Michael Eugene Stout, 77, of Yorktown, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was born on September 11, 1946, to the late Gerald Frederick and Mildred Lucille (Case) Stout.
Michael worked for General Motors and, in retirement, drove a school bus for Daleville Community Schools. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a passion for fishing, baseball, and working on cars.
Michael is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Elaine (Applegate) Stout; two sons, Jeff Stout (wife Anne) and Joey Stout (wife Andra); two brothers, Larry Stout (wife Paula) and Gerald Stout (wife Marilous); two sisters, Vicki Stout and Marilyn Burcham (husband Raymond); five grandchildren, Madelin, Riley, Zackary, Tanner, and Connor Stout; five great-grandchildren, Levi, Claire, Stella, Addilyn, and Yareli; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a brother, David Stout (Carole); and sister, Judy Stout.
A funeral service to celebrate Michael's life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, November 20, 2023, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Ste. 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
