Michael Francis Taccetta

Michael Francis Taccetta, 71, Hastings, FL, passed away peacefully at the Community Hospice Bailey Center in St. Augustine, FL on January 31, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born on October 31, 1952 in Miami Beach, FL to loving parents Rose T. Taccetta (Turano) and Frank M Taccetta.
He graduated from Miami Central, class of 1971. Michael continued his education at Power Plant and Air Frame Mechanics, class of 1973 and First Coast Technical College HVAC, class of 2013.
Supervisor Mike was a man of many talents, culinary (Miami Mike's), mechanics, carpentry, Entertainment (Denver Gene Oldies Show), a private pilot owning his own plane, and too many more to list.
Michael was loved by all and encouraged everyone to do their very best. His sense of humor kept everyone laughing, even in his final days.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeannine Doyle.
He leaves behind to mourn his death, a loving wife of 33 years, Sylvia "Jamie" Taccetta; son, Frank M. Taccetta; daughter, Mary Taccetta Herrington and son-in-law, James Herrington; grandchildren, Chloe, Charlotte, Noah, Sebastian, Liliana, and Adriana; siblings, Joy DiDonato, Diane Toto, Michael V. Taccetta, Michele Taccetta, along with numerous nieces, nephews, many, many cousins, friends, and his cat, Sally Woo.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Elkton, FL on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at the Taccetta residence.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Community Hospice Bailey Center for Caring in St. Augustine or to a no kill animal shelter of your choice.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
