Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor, Sr. passed away on January 2, 2026, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born April 13, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Paul and Eunice Ous te Taylor. Michael was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1966 to 1969. He was the father of Raquel M. Taylor and Michael Taylor, Jr. (by former wife Ethel Taylor); Michael A. Ruth and Tanya W. Ruth (by the late Jacqueline Ruth); and Katasha Taylor (by former wife Brenda T. Copprue). He was the grandfather of Raquesha P. Calloway, Jasmine Ruth, Diamond Taylor, Devon Taylor, Amaya A. Taylor, Jermiah M. Taylor, David Sayles, Jr., and Jordan Sayles, and the great-grandfather of DeMarcus Ruth. Michael was the eldest of twelve siblings. Preceded in death by Ralph Taylor, Paul Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Pearline Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Vivian Taylor Picot, Elzorah "Marie" Bolden, and Donald Taylor. He is survived by siblings: Glen Taylor of Dallas, Texas; and Cynthia Elliot; and Kenneth Taylor of DeKalb, Georgia.
