Michael Joseph Tempone Sr.

Michael Joseph Tempone, Sr., 55, died July 31, 2009 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a brief illness. He was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, NY on November 28, 1953, the son of Mary Lyons and the late John Tempone. He lived in Long Island, NY and moved to Francestown in 1970.

Mr. Tempone was a member of the first graduating class of ConVal Regional High School. He was a self-employed carpenter since graduating. He loved hunting, fishing and especially enjoyed history, from colonial times through the 1990’s. He was an avid New York Yankee fan.

He leaves his wife of 24 years, Robin McLenon Tempone of Francestown; his mother, Mary Lyons Tempone, also of Francestown; 2 sons, Michael Tempone, Jr. and Patrick Tempone, a daughter, Anna Tempone, all of Francestown; a brother, John Tempone of Jaffrey; 3 sisters, Ellen Lyons of South Setauket, NY, Maureen Berger of Dearing and Mary Geoffrey of Antrim and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Monday evening, August 3, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM. Relatives and friends are invited.

A graveside service and burial will be in the family lot in Francestown Cemetery Number 3 on Tuesday at 11 AM with the Reverend Father Gerald Belanger, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church of Divine Mercy Parish offering prayers. The family suggests that gifts in his memory be sent to the ConVal Advocates, c/o ConVal High School, Peterborough, NH 03458. Jellison Funeral Home, Peterborough is assisting the family with arrangements.
