Michael Alan "Mike T." Terry, 46, of Lexington passed away under hospice care at home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. A Lexington native, he was born to Stephen W. Terry and MaryAnn Capley Terry on May 8, 1979. Mike was a Catholic Christian.
Mike was a graduate of Lafayette High School ('97). He was a member of the Lafayette Band (Marching, Symphonic, and Jazz). He was part of five state band titles and he marched in the Macy's parade in New York during his time with the band.
After he attended UK, Mike built a successful career in construction. He was a supervisor for IMI Concrete and was part-owner of Emerge Contracting. Emerge built several container homes in downtown Lexington, which were projects on which Mike had a leadership role.
Mike enjoyed old cars, movies, and music. He played the trumpet.
Mike is survived by his father Stephen W. (Christina) Terry of Lawrenceburg; his mother MaryAnn Terry (Kenneth Thompson) of Lexington; his former wife Jessica Merez of Texas; his sons, Chandler Martin of Lexington and Logan Martin of Texas; his sisters, Neisha Jett (Tim Livingston) of Dayton, Ohio and Amanda (Jason) Stewart of Lexington; his brother Austin Thompson of Lexington; his nephew Haiden Stewart of Lexington; great-uncle Matthew (Pat) Jordan of New York; and numerous cousins, extended family, and close friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mike's life from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7th at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville.

Mike T was a rock solid man who never met a stranger. His love for his mother, family and friends was undeniable and was the backbone for all our gatherings and shenanigans.

Yes, it is unthinkable for all of us to lose someone in our family so young, but it reinforces the fact that we all have to live and love life and each other to the fullest just like my nephew did.

You will be toasted and remembered by your family forever. Rest in peace good man

Michael“s mother, Mary Ann, is one of my oldest and dearest friends, so I have known Michael his whole life- even before he was born!
The world is definitely a bleaker place without Michael Terry in it- he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family-not just today or tomorrow, but always. I hope eventually they will be able to find some peace and comfort.
