Michael Maurice Thinnes, age 66, of North Ogden, UT, our beloved husband, dad, and grandpa passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from complications due to a sudden illness. He was born in Pleasant View, UT on October 24, 1958, the son of Maurice and Margaret Thinnes. Mike graduated from Weber High School where he excelled in Art.
He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon in 1980. Mike learned valuable lessons of responsibility and hard work while working for the family business, Thinnes Construction and on the Thinnes farm.
Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was quite the craftsman with wood working. He was the fixer of all things when the kids would call for help and advice.
Mike is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Tierney (Brandon) Brower; mom, Margaret; sisters, Marjorie (Jeff) Watts, Melanie (Brent) Trimble, and Marilee Carreola; his brother, Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Brandy Thinnes; grandkids, Baylee, Mason, Koston, and Emersyn; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Trent Thinnes; dad, Maurice Thinnes; and in-laws, Kenneth and Florence Rogerson.
As we remember Mike, we are reminded of the countless lives that he touched. His kindness, humor, and friendliness will deeply be missed. His legacy will live on through the memories we all have of him.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Family and Friends are invited to wear your favorite flannel shirt and jeans in memory of Mike.
