Some people you meet, and it takes a while to get to know them, or what they're really about. Not true with Mike. Mike was an open book and as friendly as the day is long. As soon as I met Mike, I knew I met a friend. Miss you Moose!

I first met Michael (Moose) when I transferred to Presentation Catholic school in 1977 to play football and basketball for the Trojans. He was an assistant coach for my 7th and 8th grade years, and immediately took to mentoring the newcomers to the team, including me. His level of interest and care were very authentic, given how truly nice a guy he was, and helpful a coach too.

My coach eventually became my friend as I moved into Midland high school and beyond, and I will never forget the many neighborhood backyard games we played and water skiing on the Ohio River. My most unique memory was when Moose let me drive his big green Ford home from a wedding our families attended, not knowing that I had never driven a car before that night. I was driving like a little old lady, and had to turn over the helm back to him, which was sooo embarrassing! No big deal to him, just like most things in life, he could easily take it in his stride, and it never came up again. Of course, this was a major motivator to get driving lessons from my big sister Chris.

Once I left town to start my career with EDS in MI, it took us several years to reconnect via email with him in CT, but it continued for many more years via annual Christmas cards with short letters that meant a whole lot to me. I only regret that Diane and I never made that trip to CT like we were planning in early retirement. I will never forget you Michael. My heartfelt sympathy to Tina and the entire Uccellini family.
