Michael Joseph Ulen, 67, passed away on Monday evening, February 27, 2023 at home, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.
He was born on July 23, 1955 in Muncie, the son of Ivan L. and Alverna A. (Coats) Strouse.
He worked for the Carpenter's Union, Local #1016 and for Attlin Construction. He loved to visit Destiny Christian Church.
He loved fishing, woodworking, especially making birdhouses and swings, camping, and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed gardening and finding garage sales and flea markets, and loved his dog, Syrus.
Surviving are two daughters, Kelli Wise of
St. Petersburg, FL and Kacey Hart (husband, Nick) of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren, A.J. Wise and Kylee Moore; two sisters, Deb Watson (husband, Elige) of Muncie and Mary Lay (husband, Arnold) of Selma; one brother, Aaron Strouse (Debbie Smith) of Muncie; half-sister, Yvette White of Ohio; very special aunt and dishwasher, Lenora Strouse of Muncie; aunt, Sally Coats, of Desoto; four special nephews, Mark, Michael, Chris and Andrew; and the family would like to extend a special thank-you to Debbie Black for all her assistance.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alverna A. Strouse and his father, Ivan L. Ulen.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor Chris Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary, Washington Street Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023.
