Michael Wayne Varble 69, of Williamsburg VA passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Melvin Varble, Sr., and his brothers, Melvin Varble Jr. and Mack Varble. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Alexa Gail Varble and granddaughter, Abigail Rose Varble, his brothers, Billy Varble (Sharon), Kevin Varble (Julie), Keith Varble (Tammy). He is also survived by countless nieces and nephews and devoted friends. Mike lived life to the fullest, he loved to hunt and had endless stories of going to the duck blinds with his dad, and going to Northern Virginia to turkey hunt with his buddy T.J.
He started his career at Steele's Garage as a mechanic. He began driving Tow Trucks and that was it, he had found his passion. He eventually began his own business Mike's Towing and Recovery. He had endless stories to tell of wrecks and the people he had met along the way, and being on the scene assisting tow trucks. The biggest the challenge the better. Mike also mentored many drivers to include Aaron Brickley and Johnny Wilson along the way in his knowledge of tow trucks and how to handle different situations.
Mike was known for his jokes and ability to make others laugh, and he could keep them going for hours. He also had a passion for reading, many times reading between the towing calls. Mike retired from towing in 2018. He began attending to Christ Community Church in Toano, it was here he found the Lord and gave his life to Christ.
The family would like to thank Elizabeth Janette Wilder and her children Chris and Jennifer Walls for their love and friendship to Mike during these last years of his life.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11AM Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Christ Community Church, where In lieu of flowers, they family request you make donations to the church at 9001 Richmond Rd Toano, VA 23168
