Michael was a devoted husband to Kristi Wallace and a deeply loving and engaged father. He and Kristi shared two young children-Beckett (3) and Miller (2). He was also a proud and caring father to Tessa (11), Pippa (8), and Mac (6). Michael cherished each of his children deeply and poured his heart into fatherhood with warmth, humor, and unwavering presence.
A proud New Zealander, Michael grew up on Ardsley Stud, the family farm run by his parents, Jim and Mary Wallace. He was a graduate of the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Sunline Scholarship and began his career with a deep-rooted love for animals and the land.
Michael built a remarkable international career as a bloodstock agent. He spent eight years as Chief Operating Officer of China Horse Club, playing a key role in some of the organization's most notable acquisitions-including Triple Crown winner Justify. After 2021, he continued as an independent agent, working with top global clients and contributing to multiple graded stakes successes. His sharp eye, integrity, and passion for the sport earned him wide respect in the racing world.
Outside of work, Michael loved to travel, enjoy good food and wine, and spend quality time with friends and family. His quiet warmth, generosity, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kristi; his children, Tessa, Pippa, Mac, Beckett, and Miller; his parents, Jim and Mary Wallace; his brother James (Jess); his brother David and the late Maddy Wallace; his sister Catherine (David); and his sister Rachel (Gordy). He is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, as well as his extended family, friends, and colleagues around the world.
A celebration of Michael's life will be planned in the coming weeks. Details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.

Gary and I are lifting you and your family up in our prayers. We loved seeing the four of you strolling in the neighborhood. We loved seeing Mick walking around the block and he always had a kind word and sweet wave. We will miss him. Please know we love you and are here for you
