Michael Robert Ward was born to the union of Earl Ward Sr. and Minnie Lee Womack-Ward on September 12,1940 in Centerville, Il. (Fire Works Station).
Michael was the second oldest child of five children. He was preceded in death by both his parent and his sisters, Ann Vaughn, Ceceil Wherry, and Ingrid Ward.
Michael was baptized at Pilgrim Temple A.M.E Church in East St. Louis, IL. at an early age. He began his Education at Garrison Elementary School Centerville, IL, Lovejoy High School Brooklyn, Il and graduated from Lincoln High School, East St. Louis, IL. Michael always had a thirst for knowledge, he spent many days, months, and years in classrooms. He received a bachelor's and master's degree in political science, as well as another master's degree in communication from the University of Maryland College Park, MD.
Michael was drafted into the United States Army where he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return to the USA, he re-enlisted in the Army and served his country faithfully for 21 years. He received numerous awards, medals, citations, and took pride in defending his country.
Michael met and married Darline Faulkner in 1960 and they remained married, until her death in 2018. To this union there were three children who preceded him in death, Minette, Michael, and Adrian.
Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory, his four Daughters, Crystal Parchman (Roderick) of Fairview Heights, Il., Nina Ward-Ross (Carlos) of St Louis, MO., Meana Ward of Williamsburg, VA., Nicole Ward of Alexandria, VA.; two sons, Jason Ward of Atlanta, GA. and Ryan Alexander (Carolina) of Englewood, New Jersey; two brothers, Phillip Ward (Barbara) of Las Vegas, NV., and Earl Ward Jr. (Charlotte) of Tampa, FL., eleven grandchildren, Andre Prayer, Michale Ward, Kandie Robinson (John), Sheena Ward, Brian Stepter Jr., Jasmine Ross, Carolyn Ross, Garrett Ward, Kendal Ward, Ciara Cameron and Nicholas Cameron; Marilyn Merry, and a host of great grandchildren, family, and friends.
