Mike Whatley, 73, of Canadian, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Canadian.
No services are currently scheduled. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Michael Lewis Whatley was born August 11, 1951, in Archer City to Pete and Marjorie Whatley. Mike spent his childhood in the Archer City area and moved to Canadian in his teens and was graduated from Canadian High School. He worked in the oil field for Cimerex as a Pumper. Mike married Becky Treadwell on December 1, 1987. He was a quite man by nature that enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and cooking on the grill. Mike and Becky loved going to the mountains. When he was younger, he enjoyed coaching little league baseball.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Marjorie Whatley; 5 brothers, Sonny Rux, Virgil Rux, Richard Rux, Gary Rux and Steve Whatley.
Those left to cherish Mike’s memory are his wife, Becky Whatley of Canadian; 3 nieces, Tina Alsup, Sonya Winston and husband John, Gwendolyn King; and 1 nephew, Tony Rux.
