Born in Louisville to Joe and Susie Winters, Michael was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and was an electrician in his late father's company, Advance Electric.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Winters, and a nephew, Joshua Minervino.
Michael is survived by his two sons, Sam and Derek Winters; his mother, Susie Winters; his siblings, Teri Lacy (Rich), Paula Minervino (Joe), Krista Brassine (Bill), and Greg Winters (Lindsey); Dawson Overberg, whom he treated like a son; one niece; and five nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1960 Bardstown Rd, with burial in Calvary at a later date. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to his sons in c/o Highlands Funeral Home as they negotiate these difficult times. Please see our donation link below.
