Michael Woods Obituary

He was born in Louisville, KY October 27th 1948 to Joseph and Kathleen Woods. He was a graduate of DeSales High School and the University of Louisville. He was a designer for General Electric where he retired after 36 years. He was a member of Middletown Christian Church and Middletown Lions Club. Mike was an avid world traveler, an avid UK and UofL sports fan, he was a jokester due to being the middle child of 7 kids, and most of all he loved his family and being a "papaw". He was a fun loving person and everybody's favourite uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Kathleen Woods.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Connie (Williams) Woods, his daughter, Tracey (Woods) Spann (Jeff), two grandchildren, Tyler and Jake Spann, his sisters, Rosie Seidenfaden (Kenny), Brenda Harley (Fred), Joanne Pearson and Nita Miller (Alan), his brothers, Pat Woods (Joyce) and Rick Woods (Vicky) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28th from 1-8pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Funeral Services will be 11am Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Dear Connie and family, I wish I had Mike's gift for consoling those who are grieving. His eulogy at my mother's service provided me great comfort. I will miss Mike's radiant smile, his corny jokes, and his occasional visits to Texas (please keep those up). Love Yuma.

So very saddened to learn of Mike's passing. He was a friend and I always enjoyed seeing him in church and breaking bread with him following church services. He surely will be missed. Sincere sympathies to Connie and the family. Rest in peace, my friend.
