Michael Wooten

Michael Wooten, of Rolla, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 72.
He was born on January 9, 1953, in Missouri to his parents, Claude Wooten and Elva Pearl (Schoonover) Wooten.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Wooten; his granddaughter, Brittany Snelson; three brothers, Carl, Billy, and Gale Wooten; his sister, Janice Hodge; and his brother-in-law, Dean Hodge.
Michael enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and cherished the moments spent with those he loved. He especially looked forward to trips to the casino with his brother Bill, where they shared laughter and friendly competition. He found peace in going for drives and being surrounded by nature, often taking the time to appreciate the quiet beauty around him. He also took great satisfaction in working on crossword puzzles, enjoying the quiet challenge they offered. Michael also loved playing cards and fishing, hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life. His presence, humor, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Michael will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his daughter, Sherry Cantrell and husband Chuck of St. James, MO; one grandchild, Cassidy Outlaw and husband Jordan of St. James, MO; three great grandchildren, Dakota Outlaw, Brody Theilen, Canton Outlaw; special grand dogs, Cooper, Darcy; nieces, Karen McDowell and husband Gary, Lisa Bailey and husband Carl, Jessica; nephews, Junior Wooten, Mike "Bubba" Wooten, Joe Lotzer, Utah Baily and Gary McDowell; and many other family and friends.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at Pilot Knob Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife, Joyce.
