Michael J. "Mike" Young Sr.

Michael J. "Mike" Young Sr. 74, of Louisville passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Robley Rex V.A. Medical Center. He was born November 23, 1948 in Louisville one of five children to Byron Young and Marion Litch Young.
Mike was in the insurance business and had a passion for helping people. He was a Catholic by faith and a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in Korea during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed playing golf in his spare time, along with coaching and watching UK sports. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Mike wore many titles; husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, coach, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Goodman Young; children, Michael J. "Mickey" Young, Jr, and his wife Jennifer, Melanie Young Clint and her husband, Chad; six grandchildren, Zachary, Nathan and Abigail Young; and Jaxon, Grace and Eli Clint. Mike is also survived by his siblings, Sharon Cardwell (Bill deceased), Patrick Young, Timothy Young (Lecia), Kevin Young (Lori), and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Road with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews.
