Benson, NC: Mrs. Michele Sabine Penin Coats, age 89, of Benson passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benson. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
Mrs. Coats was born on May 7, 1935 in Nancy, France to the late Laurent Pierre and Mary Louise Elgin Penin. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Coats. Prior to retirement she was a Machine Operator at Morganite. She was a social person who enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Coats Senior Center, she enjoyed shopping when she could, and at Liberty Commons she enjoyed spending time with her fellow residents whom she considered family.
Surviving includes her children, William J.M. Coats and girlfriend, Joanna Carroll, Charles Coats and wife, Dina, Jerry Coats and girlfriend, Karen Faircloth, and Corinne Coats, and boyfriend, Bobby Tyndall; grandchildren, Ashley C. Ciociola and husband, Brad, Dustin Coats and wife, Brittany, Leon Coats, Austin Coats and Ashton, Taylor Coats and Bruce, and Brooke Coats; great grandchildren, Fitz Coats, Christian Coats, Carden Ciociola, Addie Ciociola, Natalyn Coats, and Emma Dare Coats; sister, Francine Henry; niece, Corinne Henry; nephew, Yann Henry; and multiple fur-grandchildren.
