Michelle S. Johnson

Michelle S. Johnson, 54, of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on September 29, 1967, in Normal, to Michael and Linda (Carl) Kelley. She married Kevin Bernovich on August 1, 1989. She later married Terry Johnson on September 29, 2012, in Florida; he preceded her in death on June 9, 2022.
She is survived by her mother, Linda Kelley of East Peoria; 2 sons, Bradley Bernovich and Alex (Alexa) Bernovich both of Washington; 3 stepsons, Matt (Sha'Kirra) Johnson of Peoria, Brian Johnson of St. Anne, and Adam (Jackie) Johnson of Peoria; 7 grandchildren, Heath, Ezra, Landen, Metirra, Trey, Isaac, and Gus Johnson; her sister, Jennifer (David) Danosky of Elkhart, and her nephew, Andrew Danosky.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.
Michelle worked as the office manager at the Law Offices of Chris Doscotch for over 20 years.
She loved life and the adventures it provided, especially if the ocean and sunshine were involved. She was an avid Cubs fan, loved haunted houses, and took great pride in her shoe collection.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at United Presbyterian Church in Peoria. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022, with an additional half-hour of visitation prior to the service, at the church. Reverend Debra Avery will officiate. Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
